The Alabama native is known best for his day job of 17 years: B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year, Elite Series Pro and FLW Tour Pro, but when asked why he fishes, Gerald answers, “So I have enough money to hunt. Seriously, it’s a passion.” The very skilled archery hunter was chosen as host on The Hit List which airs on the Outdoor channel where they describe the G-Man as “somewhere between Larry the Cable Guy and Chris Tucker, and he talks about as much as he laughs, which is plenty.”
Gerald’s highly admirable 12 trips to the Bassmaster Classic is a feat less than one-percent of all people who have ever paid an entry fee at any level of tournament angling can say they’ve achieved. His career includes 44 Top 10 finishes with career earnings of $1,637,325.14. Could this weekend’s Bassmaster Classic on Lake Harwell, South Carolina be the first Classic win for the G-Man?
