Yamaha’s Brad Franklin one of Three New Members to Join Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation Board of Directors

January 6, 2010 (Washington, DC) – Three new members began terms on the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s (CSF) Board of Directors January 1. New members of the CSF Board are: Tommy Millner of Cabela’s, Steve Sanetti of National Shooting Sports Foundation, and Brad Franklin of Yamaha Motor Corporation USA. In April 2009, Tommy Millner was named president and chief executive officer of Cabela’s, the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear. Previously, Millner had worked for Remington Arms Company for 15 years, ten as Chief Executive Officer.

“I hope my experience in the firearms and outdoor industries – and my commitment to supporting sportsmen’s efforts – will serve the organization well as the CSF board addresses the many issues important to our community,” Millner said.

Steve Sanetti is president and chief executive officer of the National Shooting Sports Foundation having served in the position since May 2008. He is well known throughout the firearms community, having spent 28 years with Sturm, Ruger and Company prior to joining NSSF.

“I have worked alongside CSF for many years and always admired the mission and focus of the organization,” said Sanetti. “I look forward to continuing and furthering the outstanding work that CSF has accomplished.”

Brad Franklin serves as government relations manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation USA and has been involved with the motorsports industry for over 25 years.

“Having been involved with CSF over the past few years and seeing first-hand the success of the organization, I am excited about the opportunity to serve the sporting community as a member of the Board ,” said Franklin.

“The collective talents of Tommy, Steve, and Brad will serve as invaluable assets on the CSF Board in continuing to increase our role as the leader in organizing state and federal policy makers in protecting and promoting sportsmen’s issues,” said CSF President Jeff Crane.

Three long-time serving board members, Jim Baker of Ogilvy Government Relations, Doug Painter of NSSF, and Gordon Robertson of the American Sportfishing Association, terms expired at the end of 2009.

“These three gentleman are outstanding leaders in our community and we thank them for their years of dedicate service on the CSF Board,” said Crane. “We look forward to continuing to work with Jim, Doug, and Gordon.”
