Weller Racing Dominates at Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in Las Vegas

Chandler, AZ (11/10/2010) Whoever coined the phrase “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” certainly didn’t have Weller Racing in mind, nor their SR1 class podium sweep, which occurred during rounds 13 and 14 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series this past weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, located just to the north of Sin City.
Rebounding from a frustrating 12th round, Weller Racing’s Tilted Kilt/MagnaFlow/LoneStar SR1 driver Corry Weller turned up the heat this past weekend and hit the Vegas track with a vengeance, determined to make a statement in the last few races of the season.
“I was pretty bummed about having to pull out of the last race at Speedworld to save my motor.” stated Weller.  “I knew that would pretty much make it impossible for me to win the championship, but I decided right then and there, sitting in my car watching everyone else race by, that I would do everything I could to make sure I was on the podium for the rest of the season.”

That determination paid off with back to back wins in the SR1 class, as Weller led Saturday and Sunday’s races from start to finish, taking home wins for both rounds and giving her fans and sponsors quite a bit to be proud of.

“We all run stock motors, so it’s the decisions we make in my setup like my Maxxis tires, Walker Evans shocks and MagnaFlow exhaust that can mean the difference between a win and a loss.” says Weller.
In the Unlimited UTV class, Weller Racing’s Kawasaki/Monster backed driver Austin Kimbrell was also a presence on the podium for both rounds, giving Funco/Kawasaki’s Chad George a true fight to the finish in the points race for the season.  With only a few points separating the two Kawasaki drivers, the final round at Firebird will be anything but boring!

“I’m really happy with how this whole weekend turned out.” said Jason Weller, owner of Weller Racing. “After the last round, we spent a lot of time on Corry’s car, going through everything and making sure she wouldn’t have any problems out there this time.  It’s a great feeling when all of that time and effort pays off with a pair of wins.”
When asked about his feelings going into the final round, Jason said “We have faith in Austin, and know he can do what it will take to pull off the Championship for 2010.  We also know that Corry will win races when she’s got a problem-free car, so we are really looking forward to the last race at Firebird.”
Weller Racing would like to recognize and thank the Tilted Kilt, MagnaFlow, Walker Evans, LoneStar Racing, Maxxis Tires, AEM, Cognito, Simpson Racing, K&N, Twisted Stitch, Unisteer, Parker Pumper, and Rigid Industries for their support for the 2010 season.  We hope to see all of our friends and fans at the final round at Firebird in Arizona on Dec. 11th!
