Weller Racing Continues it’s LOORRS Domination in Utah

Chandler, AZ (7/1/10) Weller Racing continued its podium domination for rounds seven and eight of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series, which was held for the first time at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona short course fans came out in droves to see the first race of this type ever to be held at the multi-million dollar race facility.

Weller Racing’s Unlimited UTV driver Austin Kimbrell swept the podium both days, taking solid wins over fierce competitors such as Funco’s Chad George and Walker Evans’ RJ Anderson, putting himself in the points lead for the first time this season. After a few rounds of bad luck early in the year, Kimbrell has climbed to the top of the points ladder and is now perched for a championship run in 2010.

“We were happy with the way Austin’s motor ran in Utah,” said Jason Weller, owner of Weller Racing. “Austin drove a great race both days, and his performance each round only makes us that much more eager to continue developing his motor and doing what we can to help keep him in front of the pack.”

Continuing Weller Racing’s podium dominance in the SR1 class, and running fast on a tight and very technical track, Weller Racing’s LSR driver Greg Frantz took his first win of the series during Round 7 on Saturday, while Weller Racing’s own Tilted Kilt/MagnaFlow/Walker Evans driver Corry Weller took her third win of the year during Round 8 on Sunday. Sporting her new LSR suspension after partnering up with Lone Star Racing for the remainder of the season, Corry ran a conservative but effective race on Sunday after suffering some serious damage to her SR1 during Saturday’s main event.

“We had some bad luck on Saturday, and even though we got everything fixed for Sunday’s race, I was still a little hesitant to throw my SR1 around the track at 100%” stated Weller. “I wanted to push hard enough to win it, but was also careful not to take any unnecessary risks on such a tough track…..this is a points race, and I have to be sure I race smart and keep that championship in sight at all times.”

Not only did Weller Racing have a successful weekend on the podium, but they were also invited to pit under the MagnaFlow canopy for the entire event in Utah.

“MagnaFlow has been a great sponsor this season, and of course we were more than happy to accept their generous offer to pit with them for these last two rounds.” said Jason. “The exposure was fantastic, for our company as well as for the rest of our sponsors, and Corry got a chance to sign a ton of autographs and meet a lot of race fans. We’d like to say a huge thank-you to MagnaFlow for their hospitality!”

Weller Racing drivers have a little time off until the next round, which will be held on a brand new track at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, CA on the weekend of August 6-8th. With the series now half over, every point will count for the top drivers in each class, as the points race for Unlimited and SR1 UTVs really begins to heat up!
