Vision X Racers Shine at Grueling SCORE Baja 1000

Jagged X

In the 49th running of the SCORE Baja 1000, Vision X racers battled through the rugged elements to win in Class 1 Unlimited Buggy, Class 10 Buggy, and a podium in Pro UTV Forced Induction. Each team battled into the night, putting their Vision X lighting to the ultimate test against the finest dust/silt, water crossings, and relentless pounding that 850 mile course could offer.

The Eight-time Pro UTV champions, Jagged X Racing piloted by Brandon Schueler took their factory backed Polaris RZR Turbo XP to the podium with a third place finish, but it didn’t come easy. The brutal course was relentless and an early race collision had a severely bent bumper with their 4.5” LED Light Cannons pointed skyward into the night. With experience comes consistency as they pushed through utilizing their upper Light Cannons to earn a second place in the SCORE UTV Forced Induction Championship!

The Baja 1000 victory for Wilson Motorsports marked their third south-of-the-border triumph in 2016 as Ronny Wilson also won both SCORE San Felipe 250 and Baja 500 in their Class 1 machine. They didn’t stop there; fielding two Unlimited racecars, Brad Wilson claimed 4th place further proving the Mike Stapleton prepped machines are built with the right products to win day or night.

While the team victories were sweet, it wasn’t all trophies for Team Vision X. Famed Formula Drift racers and Baja 1000 rookies, Ryan Tuerck and Chris Forsberg, were prepared but tamed by mechanical issues. While their 6.7″ LED Light Cannons didn’t get to shine on this event, the allure of Baja is now engrained into these champs. Next time, they’ll be back with the Valvoline Cummins powered Class 8 Sportsman trucks to tame Baja.

Justin Davis of Green Army Motorsports came out swinging in resurgence this year to win a mid-season Night race while using the new ultra-distance Vision X XPRS LED light bars. The multi-time Baja winner’s feedback, “Phenomenally better than any lighting I have ever driven behind.” Team Green Army executed their plan flawlessly with Justin driving the whole race (Ironman) and pushing his way to the front, winning Class 10 Buggy by over 5 minutes. The new XPRS series LED Bars, now holding multiple wins have proven to be the perfect compliment to high-speed desert racers looking for ultimate lighting distance from an LED Light bar.
