Jumpstart your day with a relaxing breakfast overlooking the lake.  Pack family or friends into the Can-Am Defender or Commander Max side-by-side and power up to the top of Sawtell Peak, a 9,800-foot mountain that boasts a massive FAA Radar tower and shares in the breath-stealing views of Island Park Reservoir, Henry’s Lake in the valley below, and even the Grand Tetons in the distance. Just to the north, Sawtell’s magnificent neighbor, 10,500-foot Jefferson Peak seems only a stone’s throw away.  

Then zoom down the mountain to explore Big Springs, home to “ginormous” rainbow trout and monumental amounts of water –– 120 million gallons a day –– that flow from this headwater into the prized snake river. Journey south and you’ll find Upper and Lower Mesa Falls. Prepare to be mesmerized by the 10-story high upper falls that cascade down into the Snake River, then hop on the scenic walking path and head down a mile to view its sibling, the lower falls.

As the day’s adventure winds down, it’s time to relax, refuel and have more fun or find some quiet solitude to reflect and recharge. Join family and friends in Lakeside Lodge’s restaurant and bar for a scrumptious dinner of Idaho steaks, seafood, Miller Ranch burgers, seasonal salads, and the chef’s fresh baked desserts, tap your feet to the lively music and challenge your family and friends to a game of shuffleboard or pool. If a lively evening isn’t for you, meander along the glimmering lake and search for the wildlife that make the lake their home, then tuck yourselves into your lodging for a peaceful night’s sleep to be ready for tomorrow –– your next fun-filled day.

It’s time to explore the lake and waterways. Catch the sunrise with a peaceful morning glide on paddle boards and kayaks or cruise the lake in a Sea-Doo Switch Pontoon boat or Sea-Doo personal watercraft and find your perfect morning fishing spot.  If peaceful glides are not for you, choose the “Sea-Doo life” and speed up the Switch pontoon boat and whip the kids around the lake on pull tubes, rent a boat and wakeboards for a fun-filled day of jumping wakes, or hop on and rev-up a Sea-Doo PWC and hunt for the biggest wakes you can find. For those who love winter adventures, grab a Ski-Doo sled and power up and around 500 miles of groomed trails right out of Lakeside Lodge, come for a New Year’s memory to enjoy Lakeside Lodge’s magnificent fireworks and Christmas lights, join the next ice fishing tournament, or check out the vintage snowmobile show.
