SuperATV’s long history of bringing portal gear lifts to the UTV world has earned them a solid reputation. They’re four and six-inch Gear Driven Performance (GDP) Portal Gear Lifts are every mud bogger and lift enthusiast’s dream—a lift kit that puts a gear reduction in the hub. That gives you the opportunity to run bigger tires and break fewer axles. It’s a win-win.

SuperATV has brought us the best, most popular four and six-inch portal lifts in the industry. With the introduction of GDP 8” Portal Gear Lifts, they’ve taken their rock-solid engineering and portal experience to create a bigger and better portal.

GDP Portals have been continuously improved from the time they were first released in 2015 to now with the release of 8” portals. First it was the 4” Portal. Then it was the 6” portal. Then Gen 2. It’s hard to imagine anybody but SuperATV with the chops to release the tallest portal the industry has ever seen. And it’s not just big—they’ve also brought some new features that make it the most advanced portal lift around.

The GDP 8” Portal Gear Lift introduces an O-ring gasket to seal the box. That gives better protection against leaks and gives you the ability to service your portals without necessarily having to replace the gasket every time.

The input gear is now sealed which means that the box is completely sealed even before you install your axle to it. The four and six-inch models sealed to the axle which could cause issues if your axle wasn’t perfectly smooth. It also meant that you risked destroying your entire portal hub if you had a serious axle failure. With 8” portals, the new design means that worry is a thing of the past.

Perhaps the most significant new feature is that this lift gives you a 1.5” forward and rear offset for a 3” longer wheelbase total. That will give your machine a lot more stability on hill climbs or when you’re crawling out of mud holes. And that means you get room for much larger tires. You’ll have clearance for up to 40” tires on a RZR Turbo with no modifications other than 8” portals. Just imagine what installing another lift on top of that would do.

For the first time ever, SuperATV is extending the option to get micro-polished gears. You may have heard of people getting their transmission gears micro-polished where the super smooth finish ekes out every last bit of power and longevity from the power train. With micro-polished gears in your portal hub, you can expect similar results.

Micro-polishing gives the gears in each hub a smooth, chrome-like finish through a two-stage burnishing process. That ultra smooth finish allows for better oil retention—with perfectly smooth teeth, the thin layer of oil can perfectly cover mating teeth and reduce friction. That means less heat buildup and quieter gears. They are far more efficient and last longer than gears without micro-polishing. A valuable upgrade for the serious rider.
