Long Travel Kawasaki KRX 1000 Takes on Utah’s Sand Hollow During SxS Adventure Rally

The Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 has been out just about a month now, and thankfully Kawasaki worked with some great aftermarket companies prior to the release so products would be ready to roll. One of the companies that Kawasaki partnered with is HCR Racing out of Cedar City, Utah.

HCR Racing has been making long travel suspension for UTVs more than a decade.  And they create suspension for not just sport UTVs, but also Rec-Utility and Utility models as well.  Everything from the Honda Pioneer to the Can-Am Maverick X3 and everything in between.

I met up with the crew from HCR Racing at the SxS Adventure Rally in Utah to get a first hand look at their long travel suspension in action. I focused in on the new Kawasaki KRX 1000 since it is the newest sport UTV out and HCR had two units there with experienced rock crawlers behind the wheel.

This green KRX 1000 not only had HCR Racing long travel that bumps the width out to 72-inches, but also had 34-inch EFX MotoVator tires mounted on KMC beadlock wheels. As you can see from the video above, they tackled some gnarly obstacles and made it look easy!

The 34-inch EFX MotoVator tires give additional ground clearance in the rocks.

They also had a white/blue KRX 1000 with Maxxis RockZilla tires that also slayed these obstacles.

If you are looking to beef up your standard suspension with either long travel or OEM width, be sure to check out HCR Racing. You won’t be disappointed.
