Anaheim, Calif. – February 14, 2013 – GBC Motorsports riders made their way out to Primm, Nevada for the second round of the 2013 WORCS Racing ATV/SXS season this past weekend. Mitch Guthrie Jr. won his second straight SXS 1000 race, Tim Wyatt finished 6th in the SXS Pro class, and Cody Mitchell and Jose Mendoza landed on ATV class podiums.

While conditions weren’t quite as wet or muddy as they were in the opener, Round 2 at Buffalo Bill’s saw some cool temperatures and rough track conditions. With a course layout that mixed trophy truck track with whooped out sand and a paved section, racers would be have to utilize a variety of skills to navigate the mixed terrain in Primm.

SXS Races
Just three days after helping his dad win his 4th King of the Hammers title in what turned out to be a downright brutal race, Mitch Guthrie Jr. rolled in to the second round of WORCS to go up against the SXS 1000 class. Guthrie blazed through the course on his Mongrels and earned his second straight class victory by a mere four seconds. Fellow GBC driver Jake Greco followed him with a 3rd place class finish and 6th place Overall, while Mike Gardner finished 4th in the SXS 1000 class on a set of Dirt Tamers.

Tim Wyatt led the way for GBC racers in the SXS Pro class as he piloted his Dirt Commanders to a 6th place finish and 9th place Overall. Joe Greco and Wesley Barker joined Wyatt in the Pro top-10 with 8th place and 10th place performances, respectively. James Hill finished 12th and Tommy Scranton 14th. RJ Anderson experienced yet another let down as mechanical issues in the first lap prevented him from finishing the race.

ATV Races
Cody Mitchell led the group of ATV Pro-Am racers putting their GBC XC-Racer and XC-Master tires to the test in the mixed terrain of the Buffalo Bill’s course. Mitchell landed on the podium with a 2nd place finish, good enough for 9th Overall as Brian Sirevaag joined him in the top-10 with an 8th place finish. Mitchell also notched a solid 4th place performance and Sirevaag finished 9th in the Prod A class.

Fellow GBC racers Jose Mendoza and Bryce Kitchen also competed in the Pro-Am class, earning 11th and 18th place finishes respectively. Mendoza made a podium appearance with a 2nd place finish in the Open A class, and Kitchen put together a 6th place effort in Open A.

GBC Racers are putting together some great performances early in the 2013 WORCS ATV/SXS season. They’ll get a bit of a break, as next up is Crazy Horse in Lake Havasu City, AZ the weekend of March 22-24.
