CAN-AM MAVERICK X3 RACER CORRY WELLER WINS 2018 LOORRS CHAMPIONSHIP

Corry Weller

VALCOURT, QUEBEC, CANADA, October 25, 2018 – Can-Am Maverick X3 racer Corry Weller finished the 2018 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series strong by capturing the Production Turbo Championship. Weller took the win on Saturday at the series finale and then scored a runner-up finish at the Challenge Cup Race on Sunday to cap off a stellar season behind the wheel of her No. 748 Weller Racing / Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo R side-by-side vehicle.

“My Can-Am was flawless. I literally didn’t touch it all weekend, other than switching to fresh tires after practice,” said Weller, who also posted the fastest qualifier and fastest lap on both days. “I love my Maverick X3…I have an emotional attachment to this race car. It’s fun making history. This is the first championship in the new class. It’s been a great season for Can-Am.”

Round 11, the season finale, was held at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz., essentially the home track for Weller. Saturday’s win was her sixth of the season and one that secured the inaugural Turbo UTV championship. She was the headliner on another all-Can-Am podium. Weller battled with teammate Paul O’Brien all season in their Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicles. He joined her on Saturday’s podium in second place ahead of Can-Am pilot Eliott Watson, who finished third for the year. O’Brien, who finished runner-up in the class, wrapped up his weekend by winning Sunday’s Lucas Oil Challenge Cup race in the Turbo class, passing Weller after a restart to earn the victory, and also a $1,000 prize.
