Parker, AZ – The 2014 Best in the Desert kicks off with the THR Parker “250” in January. This race is for race for motorcycles, quads and UTVs only. The motorcycles and quads will run three laps. UTVs will go two laps (160 miles), as will the Ironman motorcycle and quad classes.

Many teams lobbied Best in the Desert officials to have UTVs run a full race with three laps, but after consideration Casey Folks denied the request. So instead, UTVs will run about 160 miles and it will be a sprint of a race.
UTV racers will stage at 6:45 AM, and leave the starting line at thirty second intervals after the motorcycles and ATV. The first challenge that racers will face is the rising sun. With the track running east for 27 miles, racers head directly into the sun. Between the glaring sun and the dust, visibility is always tough.
