MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (March 2, 2016) – Arctic Cat Inc. announced it is launching the “Race and Ride with Robby Gordon” contest. The Grand Prize winner will race an Arctic Cat Wildcat™ X with Robby Gordon during the Stadium Super Trucks race at the Sand Sports Super Show in Costa Mesa, Calif., on September 16-18, 2016. The Grand Prize also includes a two-night stay in Orange County, Calif., for the winner and a guest.

Commented Arctic Cat Chief Marketing Officer Greg Williamson: “We continue to look for ways to give our dealers and customers the ultimate off-road driving experience. We can’t imagine a more thrilling way to do this than to give them the opportunity to race one of our exciting 2016 Wildcat X machines, alongside a legend like Robby Gordon and in front of thousands of race fans.”

The “Race and Ride with Robby Gordon” contest started on March 1, 2016, and ends on July 30, 2016. It is open to U.S. and Canadian residents who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. No purchase is necessary to win. All contest ballots will be available at participating Arctic Cat dealerships and online at www.arcticcat.com/race-and-ride, where fans may download the entry form and get a glimpse of this exciting opportunity by watching video highlights from last year’s race. Completed ballots must be placed into a ballot box found only at participating Arctic Cat dealerships to be entered for a chance to win. Contest information and rules will be posted on Arctic Cat’s website and in participating dealerships.

The Arctic Cat Stadium Side-by-Side (SXS) Racing Series was launched last year with overwhelming success, as the undercard, or lead-in race, to the main event at Robby Gordon’s wildly popular Stadium Super Truck (SST) Series events. The Arctic Cat Stadium SXS Series features 10 Arctic Cat Wildcat side-by-sides driven by Action Sport Athletes, fans, and dealers who will use the same track as the Stadium Super Trucks at various races.

About SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS

Influenced by the former Mickey Thompson Stadium Off-Road Racing Series, where drivers such as Gordon, Casey Mears and six-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson got their start, Gordon created SST in response to the public’s overwhelming interest in trucks and off-road racing. His plan to re-launch the former stadium series has led to exciting racing on both asphalt and dirt, while producing one of the most extreme forms of action sports today.

Other than the trucks launching 20 feet in the air covering distances more than 150 feet, what sets the SST program apart from other series is the fact that all the SST trucks are identically prepared and delivered to drivers in race-ready condition. Race winners are decided by driver skill rather than individual team engineering and budgets. Drivers and their personal mechanics are assigned specific SST mechanics who together tune and make minor adjustments to the 600-horsepower trucks.
