APRIL IS NOMINATION MONTH FOR THE OFF-ROAD MOTORSPORTS HALL OF FAME

Do you know someone who belongs in the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame? April is nomination month for the Hall of Fame.

There are many well deserving people in off-road who should be in the Hall of Fame, yet until they are officially nominated, they cannot be considered for induction. The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame accepts nominations in the following categories: Recreational (Four Wheeling, Motorcycle/ATV), Competition (Motorcycle/ATV, Off-Road Racing, Rally, Rock Sports, Sand Sports), Pioneer (Advocate, Industry, Journalism), Special Achievement (Individual, Organization).

The road to the Hall of Fame starts with the nomination process. Anyone can nominate someone for the Hall of Fame. Submitted nominations are forwarded to an independent committee made up of individuals from different areas of the of the off-road community. The committee meets in June to review and discuss the merits of each nominee. A maximum of five nominees are selected for Induction each year. Nominees who are not selected during their first year of consideration are eligible for two additional years on the same nomination.

On October 31, 2016, the newly selected Inductees will be welcomed into the Hall of Fame at a gala Induction Ceremony at The South Point Hotel in Las Vegas. The event coincides with The SEMA Show and Baja 1000 qualifying in Las Vegas, and has been a sell-out the past two years. The Induction Ceremony is open to the public. Tickets go on sale August 1.

The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is a 501(c)3 organization, established in 1978, to recognize and honor those individuals and organizations whose lifelong contributions to off-road motorsports have set a standard for others to follow.
