Last weekend, September 13th -14th, Magnum Off Road Racing/Vigor Motor Sports competed at Round 8 of the WORCS Off Road Race Series at Honey Lake Raceway in Milford California. The course was tight and technical with very few passing lines. It’s a mostly natural terrain course with only a few manmade obstacles. The Honey Lake track is unique to the WORCS series with its trees, sage brush and elevation change. The weekend started with practice on Friday to get a feel for the circuit and adjust for the 4222 ft elevation. Team Owner and Driver Daniel Rosenzweig had a good run feeling confident about the car’s set up.

Saturday afternoon 7 cars lined up for the start of the 850 Production race. When the green flag dropped Daniel get a good start leaving the first corner in 4th. Late in the 1st lap Daniel put his John Deere RSX 850i into 3rd position. A few laps later, Daniel inherited 2nd place and started to work reeling in 1st place. A couple corners before the checkered flag Daniel took a shot at a pass for the lead but on the narrow course the door closed before making the pass stick, leaving him with a second place finish. Overall a great weekend of racing. The Magnum Off Road Racing John Deere RSX850i left the track with momentum for the next round not to mention a new piece of hardware for the trophy case.

The Magnum Off Road Racing/Vigor Motor Sports John Deere RSX850i currently sits in fourth place in the season points race for the WORCS 850 class. With one round to go there is still a chance to get on the podium for the season. Look for an update next month after the 9th and final round in Primm NV.
In addition to racing the WORCS event the weekend of October 11th -13th both of The Vigor Motor Sports/ Magnum Off Road Racing John Deere RSX850i Pro UTV and John Deere XUV Pro DSR-1 UTV will be competing in Parker Az. at the Best in the Desert, Blue Water Desert Challenge.
