Vigor Motorsports / Magnum Off Road WORCS Round 7 Report

Over the last weekend, August 8th – 9th, Vigor Motor Sports/Magnum Off Road Racing competed at Round 7 of the WORCS Off Road Race Series at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore California. The weekend started with practice on Friday. A small portion of the Motocross track was opened to get a feel for the circuit. In true WORCS fashion the course was challenging including many man made obstacles and something unique to So Cal; a water hole. After a good practice, Team Captain and Driver Daniel Rosenzweig was feeling confident about Saturday’s race.

Saturday afternoon 11 cars lined up for the start of the 850 Production race. When the green flag dropped Daniel got another good start leaving the first corner in 5th. Late in the 2nd lap Daniel had put his John Deere RSX 850i into 4th position and was working his way toward the front. That’s when things went wrong. Early in lap 3, the linkage on the aftermarket throttle body stuck wide open as Daniel entered a corner causing the car to ultimately end up driving into and becoming perched atop a K-Rail. Daniel managed to get the car off the obstacle and was able to complete the lap using his hand to control the throttle. Unfortunately the required laps were not completed resulting in a DNF for car 138.

The Vigor Motor Sports/ Magnum Off Road Racing John Deere RSX850i currently sits in fourth place in the season points race for the WORCS 850 class. With two rounds to go there is still time to get on the podium for the season. Look for an update next month after the 8th round in Honey Lake, Milford, California.
