Sand Mountain Trip Report
April 2008

Our Polaris RZR and Kawasaki Teryx Buildup Projects at Sand Mountain
Fuel prices are astronomical!

Fuel prices are through the roof! $4.35 a gallon for diesel
in Placerville, CA.
For such a nice weekend, the crowd was smaller than it
should have been at Sand Mountain. It will be interesting to see how
the cost of gas/diesel will affect trips to the dunes.
Getting There

Stuffing two UTVs on a 16 ft. open trailer. The RZR sits
just a bit over the 102" max width.
Exploring just east of Sand Mountain

Several small mines to explore. The ones we saw did not go in very far
at all.

Cool lava formations

In Dixie Valley looking at the backside of the Sand Mountain Recreation Area

Lots of new trail markers at Sand Mountain. It is truly a bummer to
see such a wonderful place ruined by the BLM and extreme environmentalists.
BLM can now issue tickets for riding in closed areas, so be careful out
there.

Lots of great views
UTVs are a perfect vehicle to explore the many trails in and
around Sand Mountain Recreation Area.
A few Aerial Shots

Charlie from Folsom Lake RV flew
over and took some pictures for us
Polaris RZR Buildup

Our Polaris RZR Buildup Project
nears completion.
We were out showing off the
Full Body Plastic from Fullbore Innovations.
We also tested our Dynojet Power Commander III Fuel Controller,
Dual exhaust from MonsterPipe
and Air Intake from UMP.
Kawasaki Teryx Buildup

Our Kawasaki Teryx Buildup Project is just beginning.
We started the project on our last trip to Glamis with a
completely stock Teryx. After a bit of riding around, we swapped to a
set of Bilstein stock replacement shocks. The ride was much better.
On this trip, we tested a CDI from
Velocity Devices and exhaust
from
MonsterPipe.
