The greatest off-road race on the planet barrels into Las Vegas with a new race course!

January 22nd, 2015 – Las Vegas, NV – The 2015 Polaris RZR Mint 400 presented by General Tire will roar through Sin City March 11th-15th and feature a host of spectacular new features. After last years massive, record-setting event, (Mint 400 race owners) the Martelli Brothers are once again doubling down on “The Great American Off-Road Race.” The partnership between The Mint 400 and The Best In The Desert Racing Series continues to spur innovation and improvements to the race each year, making the event a marquee Las Vegas destination experience that draws in top off-road competitors, new fans, and off-road enthusiasts worldwide.

“The 2015 Mint 400 will once again raise the bar for off-road racing events. Every year we collect feedback from sponsors, racers, and spectators to make improvements based on their experience at The Mint. Our goal is to put on the best race possible for our competitors, share off-road racing with a worldwide audience, and attract new fans, race teams and event partners. We’re building the Superbowl of off-road racing one year at a time,” said Mint 400 CEO Matt Martelli.

The long list of new Mint 400 features are aimed at improving the entire 2015 Mint 400 experience, from racing to spectating, as well as increasing sponsorship value for all of the Mint 400 partners. They include:

New Longer Mint 400 Race Course – All Classes Race Every Lap
The new 126-mile Mint 400 race loop is designed to allow all twenty classes of race vehicles to race a full three laps of the ultra-technical race course – provided they can make the six hour cut-off time. The loop is longer and more technical than previous years and will allow limited classes to get more seat time as they attempt to finish the notoriously brutal race.

Improved Spectating and Parking Including New “Primm Valley Mint 400 Start/Finish Line”
Several of the Mint 400 spectator areas have been expanded and parking passes for spectator areas 1-4 will be pre-sold online to help guarantee spectator parking to those attending the Mint 400. The Mint 400 Main Pit will be located in Primm, Nevada next to the official “Primm Valley Mint 400 Start/Finish Line” directly behind Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino. The additional space will make room for thousands of additional spectators and will feature an off-road style “flying finish” with a massive table top jump! Spectators will now be able to get up close and personal with the Mint 400 champions and finishers right at the finish line. The new race course design will also allow for better traffic flow and multiple shuttles will be available to transport spectators to spectating areas. General parking in front of the Primm Valley Casinos will be free. VIP parking spots near the Primm Valley Mint 400 Start/Finish Line will be offered for purchase online.

The Mint 400 Experience
New to the Mint 400 this year, “The Mint 400 Experience” is an off-road festival located right next to the Primm Valley Mint 400 Start/Finish Line featuring interactive displays by Polaris RZR, General Tire, Red Bull, and other Mint 400 partners, as well as an array of Las Vegas food trucks, cold beer, and Mint 400 memorabilia. Designed for die hard off-road race fans and newcomers alike, The Mint 400 Experience will include Polaris RZR Demo Rides in a fleet of brand new 2015 RZR XP1000’s, giving those attending a thrilling off-road adventure.

Television Coverage Doubled
The Mint 400 has enjoyed seven years of uninterrupted national television coverage since its triumphant return in 2008. Mad Media reset the bar for off-road racing programming in 2010, by producing an NFL Films style Mint 400 documentary TV show. Last year, The Mint 400 joined the Red Bull Signature Series and aired on NBC prime-time, reaching 120 Million homes and making it the largest off-road television event in the sports history. For 2015, Mad Media will produce a 2-hour Mint 400 program for the Red Bull Signature Series AND a 2-hour long documentary feature that will showcase every class of race vehicle, effectively doubling the coverage from previous years to 4-hours total. In addition to four hours of national TV coverage, the Mint 400 documentary feature will be distributed on DVD and multiple streaming services (iTunes, Amazon Prime, Hulu) later this year.

The Mint 400 Fremont Street Contingency Grows Again
In 2014, The Mint 400 Contingency placed a record number of off-road vendors and saw spectator and off-road enthusiast numbers explode to over 25,000! For 2015, The Mint 400 Contingency has expanded again – adding several more blocks of Fremont Street East to make room for more vendors and sponsors directly on the main Fremont strip. Don’t wait to register your vending space. Click here to reserve your spot on Fremont. We will sell out again!

Bigger Parade on Las Vegas Blvd. & Pit Crew Challenge Qualifying for All Teams
For decades, The Mint 400 held a parade down Fremont Street with all of the race vehicles. In 2013 the Martelli Brothers resurrected that tradition, but moved the parade to the world famous “Las Vegas Strip” to share the sport of desert off-road racing with the entire Las Vegas community. Thanks to support from the LVMPD, this years parade will be open to all competitor vehicles! The parade will take place on Wednesday March 11th, starting at the South Point Hotel. The Mint 400 vehicles will parade down the Strip to Fremont Street East, ending with an off-road style kick-off party featuring, food, beer, music, and “The Mint 400 Pit Crew Challenge Qualifying”. Any team wishing to compete in the Mint 400 Pit Crew Challenge can qualify to compete in the finals, which will take place Thursday evening. The top sixteen teams will be seeded in the main event on Thursday night.

Increased Online Coverage “Race-Dezert Radio”
This year The Mint 400 has teamed up with Race-dezert.com and the Down & Dirty Radio Show to deliver “Race-Dezert Radio”; non-stop coverage of the entire race from 6am untill midnight. Mint 400 race teams, spectators, and Mint fans from all around the globe will be able to track the race action online with commentary from Jim Beaver, Bob Bower, Scott Rehn, and Chad Ragland. The show will feature interviews with drivers, off-road racing legends, off-road industry luminaries, and play-by-play coverage of the entire race.
