Here is where we started - Stock 2008 Kawasaki Teryx
UTVGuide.net is in the process of
building a Kawasaki Teryx up for rock crawling, dune and desert rides. Our Teryx will

articles and be part of many events & rides a throughout the United States. Stay

Performance:
Performance will be next up. There are several bolt-on type
improvements to be made - Exhaust, Intake, Fuel Controller will be Stage One.
Then in Stage Two, we'll get a bit more advanced.
Stage One - Performance Products we used:
Safety:
One of first steps is to address a few safety concerns with a
stock Teryx. This will include seats & harnesses, roll cage and half
doors . We will also need some mirrors so we can see what
is behind us in the dunes. HID lights so we
can see at night.

Suspension:
The first part of our suspension upgrades will be focus solely
on replacing our stock shocks. We are looking to see how much improvement
we can get out of the stock suspension and aftermarket shock upgrade.
Second part of the suspension project will be to upgrade to a
long travel kit (axles, a-arms, etc.). Addressing the suspension will not only
make the Teryx more fun to drive and more capable, but will also make it more
safer by increasing track width and wheel travel.

Communication and Navigation:
Since we will be doing long desert rides in large groups, we
will need communication equipment and GPS so we can stay on our route and
communicate with other vehicles in our group.
