Team Drivers Scott Kiger and William Yokley Look to Bounce Back at Round Two

WASHINGTON, Ga. (March 16, 2015) – The 2015 GNCC Series kicked off its six-race Side-by-Side Championship on Saturday in Washington, Georgia with The General GNCC. Heavy rainfall leading up to the event made for a challenging day of racing for the Polaris/Coastal/CST/Yokley Racing squad but team drivers Scott Kiger and William Yokley are looking forward to bouncing back at the next round.

Team Driver Scott Kiger powered his Polaris RZR XP 1000 off the line and drove into the first turn wheel-to-wheel with two other drivers. With a highly competitive XC1 Pro lineup, Kiger pushed his way into the lead as the pack entered the woods on the opening lap. Kiger then experienced a mechanical issue that caused him to lose substantial time early on.

“Luckily my passenger, Tyler King, is also our mechanic so he ran to the pits and got some tools to work on the car,” Kiger commented. “The ruts got deep but everything on the car worked so well, we didn’t have any other problems out there.”

Although he was a lap down from the competition due to an extended stop, Kiger pushed his way to finish 20th out of 39 in the XC1 Pro class.

Muddy Conditions took its toll on driver and machine
“It was a challenging race to prepare for with the muddy and wet conditions but the car was great all day,” Kiger added. “Even being down a lap, we were able to run with the top five and even make passes on them.”

Team Driver William Yokley, and his wife Tina as the passenger, lined up on the front row with the Polaris RZR 900 S machine ready to go at the season opener. However, Yokley detected an unknown mechanical issue in the moments leading up to the start and wasn’t able to find a solution in time to complete a lap.

“We had a really good car coming into the season opener. We put a lot of time into it and everything was running great, but unfortunately some unknown issue occurred,” Yokley said. “We’re going to sort through these minor issues and be ready to go at the next round in South Carolina. I can’t say enough about the RZR 900 S machine and all the great sponsors that are behind us this season.”

The GNCC Side-by-Side Championship returns to action April 11 and 12 in Union, South Carolina for the Big Buck GNCC. For more information on the team, please visit www.yokleyracing.com.
