Polaris Launches New Polaris Breeze Neighborhood Vehicle

Neighborhood Vehicle - Polaris BreezePolaris Industries Launches New Neighborhood Vehicle First Adjacency Product in the On-Road Vehicle Division

MEDINA, MINN. (July 16, 2009) – Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) today announced the introduction of a low emission electric powered Neighborhood Vehicle, the Polaris Breeze, which is the first new product to be launched by the recently announced On-Road Vehicle Division.

This unique, low emission vehicle combines industry leading functionality, with the fun and freedom that consumers have come to expect from Polaris and represents the Company’s initial product entry into the electric vehicle market. The Polaris Breeze is designed for multiple consumer uses such as golfing, comfortably transporting up to four passengers, or easily carrying light cargo loads. The vehicle is targeted for consumers living in master planned communities, and will be available in limited quantities for test ride and purchase at Polaris Neighborhood Vehicle dealerships in select markets starting in September 2009.

“Innovation has always been a driving force behind the success of Polaris, and our new low emission Polaris Breeze is a perfect example of that ongoing tradition,” said Scott Wine, CEO, Polaris Industries. “Our ability to leverage Polaris’ rich history of designing and manufacturing industry leading products, combined with the creativity of our designers and engineers, is a hallmark of our company and a major component for our success. This vehicle is the latest innovation from Polaris and the first of what we expect will be a series of successful ventures into the on-road vehicle category over the coming years.”

With its entirely electric operating system, the Polaris Breeze is a lower emission vehicle than comparable gas-powered offerings and is a fuel-saving alternative to automobiles for consumers making numerous short trips within their master planned community. The new Polaris Neighborhood Vehicle is fun to ride, and is an economically and environmentally responsible means of transportation.

“Polaris is constantly looking for new opportunities to deliver consumers innovative vehicles that make transportation easier, less expensive and more fun,” said Mike Jonikas, Vice President of Polaris’ On-Road Vehicle Division. “Developing the Polaris Breeze accomplishes all three of these objectives, and is the first step in an exciting new market opportunity for Polaris.”

Over the past 55 years, Polaris has earned the reputation of manufacturing innovative and well-built products, and the Polaris Breeze is the latest in this long line of exceptional vehicles. The vehicle brings industry leading comfort and ride quality, and is engineered and designed by a company famous for creating top-in-class suspensions for off-road vehicles and snowmobiles.

Polaris Announces Creation of On-Road Vehicle Division

New Division Aims to Further Strengthen Company’s Position in Critical On-Road Marketplace

MEDINA, Minn. (May 18, 2009) — Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) today announced the creation of a new On-Road Vehicle Division to help continue its drive toward the company’s
vision and objectives which include establishing a significant on-road presence. The new division takes the existing skills and assets within the company and aligns them in a way that maximizes cohesive and strategic growth for Victory Motorcycles and other on-road products and brands.

“Victory Motorcycles, with its strong brand recognition and customer loyalty, will be one of the major components of our new On-Road Vehicle Division that we’re announcing today,” said Scott Wine, Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Industries. “This new division will support our efforts to be the ‘Best in Powersports’ and continue building on our strong on-road brands and global market leadership in this critical space.”

Several organizational changes that set the foundation of the On-Road Vehicle Division are also being announced today. Intended to further strengthen the company in the on-road marketplace, these management moves put the new division in the best possible position to sustain profitable growth and long-term success.

First among these changes is Mark Blackwell’s new role as Vice President of Motorcycles. Blackwell has spent the past eight years leading day-to-day operations for Victory Motorcycles and played a key role in building the brand from an unknown startup into a highly regarded competitor considered to be among the worlds finest. Under Blackwell’s leadership, Victory has expanded into markets outside the United States and is well-positioned for long term success. Blackwell’s deep knowledge of products and markets in the motorcycle industry will continue to be an invaluable asset to the Victory brand and all other on-road vehicles.

Mike Jonikas, currently Vice President, Sales & Corporate Marketing has been appointed to the newly created role of Vice President of the On-Road Vehicle Division. In this position, Jonikas will be responsible for rapidly growing the on-road business for Polaris including strategic direction for Victory Motorcycles, and any on-road adjacencies we may add in the future. Jonikas brings proven skills to the On-Road Vehicle Division that include leading business teams to profitable growth, developing new markets and successful commercialization of new products. He will continue to lead our Sales & Corporate Marketing teams. During the past nine years, Jonikas has succeeded in several key roles with Polaris including Director of Product & Marketing Management for ATV, the first General Manager of the Polaris side-by-side business, and eventually as Vice President Sales & Corporate Marketing, overseeing the creation and phased roll-out of the Max Velocity Program.

Steve Menneto has been promoted to the position of General Manager of Victory Motorcycles, to lead profitable sales growth for this business. Since joining Polaris in 1997, Menneto has risen quickly, and has demonstrated a strong knowledge for strategic planning and increasing business profitability. Additional experience in positions such as Region Sales Manager, Director of Dealer Development and Director of North American Sales developed Menneto’s deep understanding of Victory’s dealer network and his keen eye for the competitive environment at the dealership level for on-road vehicles.

“The Victory Motorcycles brand was essentially built from scratch through tireless work in the past ten years,” said Bennett Morgan, Chief Operating Officer of Polaris Industries. “Now, by combining the diverse strengths of Mark, Mike and Steve to further develop our long-term strategies in the On-Road Vehicle Division, we are positioning ourselves for continued growth both in the motorcycle industry and, in the bigger picture, across all segments of the on-road marketplace.”

Polaris is committed to growing its on-road vehicle business through continued growth in the motorcycle industry along with successfully introducing products into other on-road adjacencies in the future. The creation of this new On-Road Vehicle Division reflects efforts to position the company’s key personnel into roles that suit their strengths and allow them to further develop the Polaris business and brands within the on-road market.

Lastly, Judy Kulsrud has been appointed to the position of Director of North American Sales replacing Steve Menneto. Judy has been with Polaris since 1995 and has a broad set of experiences across many functional areas of the business including management positions in Retail Development, Sales Operations, Regional Sales Management, and most recently the position of Director of Dealer Development. Judy has consistently delivered results and been successful in each of these positions.

Polaris Enters Agreement with Robby Gordon

Editor's note: Look for Robby Gordon inspired products from Polaris over the next few years. It is very possible that we could see a Robby Gordon Polaris RZR S or optional Robby Gordon parts from the factory.

------------------

NASCAR and Off-Road racer to help with product development and marketing initiatives

Minneapolis, March 30, 2009 – Polaris Industries today announced the company has entered into a marketing and product development agreement with famed NASCAR and three-time Baja 1000 Trophy Truck winner, Robby Gordon.

The three-year agreement includes Gordon providing insight on future products and promoting Polaris’ RANGER RZR Side-by-Sides. Gordon’s vast knowledge of off-road vehicles, from a racing perspective and through his product development experience gained from building his own trophy trucks and accessories with his company, Robby Gordon Off-Road, will be a valuable asset in creating and promoting new RANGER RZR Side-by-Sides and accessories.

“I am very excited to be involved with Polaris. They are the leading American manufacturer in consumer off-road vehicles. The RANGER RZR and the RANGER have set the standard in side-by-side vehicles. At Robby Gordon Off-road, we have built the fastest, most elite off-road vehicles in the world. We are excited to share this technology and knowledge with consumers through our partnership with Polaris,” said Robby Gordon.

A common name in NASCAR, Gordon grew up riding and racing off-road vehicles. He won the first off-road race he entered and went on to win various off-road championships. His passion for and success in off-road racing brought him to building his own trophy trucks and accessories, and creating Robby Gordon Off-Road, an aftermarket truck wheel, tire and accessory store. Gordon’s accomplishments include three Baja 1000 Trophy Truck victories and becoming the first American to win a daily stage of the Dakar Rally, when it was a 16-day 5,700-mile race from Barcelona, Spain to Dakar, Senegal, mostly in vehicles he built himself. Polaris believes Gordon’s off-road successes and product knowledge will be invaluable in the development and promotion of their RANGER RZR Side-by-Side business.

“Our relationship with Gordon is unique because he’ll not only promote our product but use his off-road expertise to help create future RANGER RZR vehicles and accessories,” said Matt Homan, vice president and general manager for Polaris’ Off-Road Division. “Coupling Gordon’s expertise in building and racing off-road vehicles, with the hottest-selling side-by-sides will ensure the RANGER RZR product line continues to be an undisputed leader both on the racing scene and in the marketplace.”

The alliance will include technology sharing, co-development and supply of highly-differentiated work vehicles with a planned launch by the second half of 2010.
These new products will be branded Bobcat and will replace current Bobcat 2100, 2200 and 2300 utility vehicles manufactured by Club Car.
“We are excited to enter this alliance with Bobcat, a respected leader in the work vehicle industry” said Scott Wine, CEO, Polaris Industries. “This alliance is consistent with our stated strategy of diversifying Polaris beyond our core powersports segments and will enhance our efforts to accelerate the growth of our military and international businesses,” continued Wine. “Initially, Polaris will produce and sell highly-differentiated work vehicles to Bobcat for sale through the Bobcat dealer network. The breadth and depth of our cooperative efforts will expand thereafter to include co-developed vehicles for both Polaris and Bobcat, and further technology sharing.

“We are thrilled about the long-term implications of this alliance.” said Richard Goldsbury, President Bobcat Americas. “Bobcat’s and Polaris’ long tradition of innovation, product passion and similar cultures complement each other very well. We are combining the strengths of the No. 1 compact construction equipment manufacturer with those of the No. 1 off-road vehicle manufacturer to deliver innovative product solutions for our customers. This alliance will enable both companies to extend our customer bases and provide profitable growth.”

Both Wine and Goldsbury stated, “Working together, we will strive to generate increased revenue and profits for Polaris, Bobcat and our dealer networks. With this alliance, Polaris and Bobcat will be well positioned for incremental revenue growth in 2010 and beyond.”

More than 100 hourly workers laid off at Polaris Industries

Polaris Industries Inc. has cut production of its Ranger utility vehicle at its plant in Roseau (Roh'-zoh) and laid off more than 110 employees.

The maker of snowmobiles, ATVs and other leisure vehicles has been battered as the economy turned to recession and discretionary spending has tapered off.

Mark Karl is director of operations for the company's plant in Roseau. He disclosed the layoffs Monday in a speech at Roseau's Civic and Commerce Banquet.

Polaris Director of Investor Relations Richard Edwards says the company has gone from two shifts to one for the production of its Ranger utility vehicles in Roseau.

Edwards would not discuss current sales or production figures, but did say there's been a drop off from the fourth quarter a year ago.

The Medina-based company is scheduled to report its fourth quarter results Jan. 29.
