U.S. Special Forces Choose Kawasaki Teryx

Kawasaki Teryx 750 FI4 x4Kawasaki Teryx™ Recreation Utility Vehicle Selected In SOCOM Tactical Vehicle Competition

More Than 1,600 Teryx RUVs Included in $28.3 Million Order

The United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has been searching for a tough, agile, tactical vehicle. From run of the mill utility vehicles all the way up to mega-dollar custom fabricated equipment, there was no shortage of contenders for the job. Following extensive research and numerous evaluation sessions, they decided to go with Kawasaki’s 2009 Teryx™ Recreation Utility Vehicle (RUV).
Following extensive research and numerous evaluation sessions, SOCOM decided to go with Kawasaki’s Teryx™ Recreation Utility VehicleAfter providing units to the military in June of 2008, Shannon Tracy, owner of UV Country Kawasaki a Veteran woman owned small business located in Houston, Tex., immediately recognized the Teryx’s excellent chance of winning any military competition where toughness, light weight, speed and agility were a factor.
In January, she replied to a new SOCOM bid request, with a proposal for UV Country to provide a large quantity of Kawasaki Teryx RUVs over a multi-year period.
Tracy’s efforts paid off, quite handsomely. After the final round of evaluations, SOCOM chose the 2009 Kawasaki Teryx 750 FI 4x4 RUV, awarding the contract, worth up to $28,390,453 to UV Country. UV Country is now scheduled to deliver up to 1,625 units on a five year indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
“We’ve fulfilled several smaller GSA and Texas state contracts in the past, but this new Special Forces project is our largest contract by far.” says Tracy. “It provides a great boost to our business, lends extra credibility to the Teryx and assists all Kawasaki dealers by capitalizing on its outstanding performance. If it’s good enough for the SOCOM environment, then it must be capable of handling whatever American hunters and outdoor enthusiasts can throw at it. This is a real win-win situation for everyone,” concluded Tracy.
Powered by a fuel-injected 750cc V-twin engine, Kawasaki’s popular Teryx 750 FI 4x4 RUV offers side-by-side seating for two adults, a roll over protective structure (ROPS), front discs and a special sealed rear brake, four wheel independent suspension, a tilting cargo bed with 500 pounds of carrying capacity and the ability to tow up to 1,300 pounds.

UTVGuide.net celebrates its first year on the net with the year in review

UTVGuide.net
As 2008 comes to a close, UTVGuide.net celebrates a successful first year on the internet. Created in December 2007 as an off-shoot from DuneGuide.com, UTVGuide.net is now visited by nearly 50,000 visitors each month. “The UTV market segment is a very exciting place to be,” remarked Jon Crowley, owner of UTVGuide.net. “The sport UTV market took off five years ago with the introduction of the Yamaha Rhino, and new models and manufacturers are hitting dealer showrooms at an incredible pace.”

Just a few of the exciting things that happened in the UTV market during the last year include: Kawasaki’s introduction of the 2008 Teryx and 2009 Teryx Sport; Polaris was first to the market with factory long travel on their RZR S; and Arctic Cat set the bar high for power hungry sport users with their new Prowler 1000 XTZ.

UTVGuide.net was thrilled to be invited to the 2009 Arctic Cat 1000 XTZ press intro and the 2009 Kawasaki Teryx Sport press intro during 2008, and we look forward to participating in many more UTV model intros next year.

Highlights for the year at UTVGuide.net include being chosen as a test driver for Side x Side Action Magazine’s 1st UTV Shootout, and their Kawasaki Battle of the Builders. And few incredible UTV trips rounded out 2008. In May, we traveled south of the border to Baja with Off-Road Warehouse and Side x Side Action Magazine for the 1st Annual Mexico UTV run. And in October we made a trip to the Grand Canyon that won’t soon be forgotten with Side x Side Outfitterz.

Our UTV stable includes two project vehicles, a 2008 Polaris RZR and a 2008 Kawasaki Teryx. Both UTVs have been extensively featured in Side x Side Action Magazine and we are blessed to work with so many great companies that helped us on the projects. Over the next month, the number of UTVs in our stable will more than double with a new Kawasaki Teryx that we are building up for the King of the Hammers UTV Competition, a long term demo of a Polaris RZR S, and a demo unit of the new 2009 Polaris Ranger HD.

2008 has been a great year for us. As we look forward to the next year, we’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that everyone has a successful 2009.

Muzzy Digi-Tune available for the 2009 Kawasaki Teryx

2009 Kawaski Teryx Fuel Controller
Taking air/fuel tuning to the next level, the Muzzy Digi-Tune uses the latest technology to provide one of the easiest and most accurate methods of tuning your fuel injected quad.
Every Muzzy Digi-Tune comes pre-programmed and optimized for each model. There is no mapping or re-mapping necessary. Adjustments for elevation and/or modifications can be done "on-the-fly" using three buttons on the faceplate.

WHY IT'S BETTER: The Digi-Tune is a load based fuel adder which works with the factory ECU. The Digi-Tune's simple push button interface and powerful load based technology renders complex table-based throttle position and RPM re-mapping systems a thing of the past.
LOAD BASED TUNING: The Digi-Tune ushers in the latest in tuning science – gone is the old throttle position and RPM (Alpha-N) based tuning, replaced by a powerful and highly effective LOAD BASED tuning methodology. Load based tuning is superior to old school systems because different gears place different loads on the engine. RPM and throttle position based systems cannot tell the difference between first or fifth gear. The Digi-Tune knows the difference and adds the proper amount of fuel for every gear, every situation.

2009 Kawasaki Teryx Digitune
Part #: 0015-00081
MSRP: $245.95
