Honda’s new four-passenger Pioneer™ 700-4 is a SxS packed with innovation, performance, style, and value that’s geared for your needs, whether that’s recreation or work.

August 11, 2016 – Already a popular model in the growing midsize side-by-side market, the Pioneer 700 gets even better for 2017, as the lineup now includes new Deluxe options for the Pioneer 700 and Pioneer 700-4. These Deluxe models boast features like aluminum wheels, electric power steering and painted suspension springs. In addition, the Deluxe models’ fully automatic transmission now comes with a manual mode that can be activated via a new dash-mounted toggle switch; use the steering-column-mounted paddle shifters to change gears while in manual mode, or to override shift points on the fly while in automatic mode. Deluxe models also get painted plastic for a bright, durable finish, while all Pioneer 700s receive a new bumper, fascia and graphics. Both 700-4 models still boast the industry’s first QuickFlip™ seating design, which allows the two rear seats to fold into the bed so that owners can select between two-, three- or four-seat configurations. A comfortable, reliable and versatile machine, this workhorse can also be dressed up, modified and personalized by choosing from the full line of more than 50 Honda Genuine Accessories/Honda Signature Accessories.

The Pioneer 700-4 features the industry’s first convertible rear seating design that offers the convenience and versatility of switching between two, three, or four person seating configurations, and provides full bed space and tilt function while in the two-person configuration.

In addition, the all-new look of the Pioneer 700-4 features new rugged styling and your choice of three colors, Red, Olive or the all-new Honda Phantom Camo™, designed by Honda. The Pioneer 700-4’s proven 700-class engine, and durable automotive-style automatic transmission with a heavy-duty torque converter will get you and your passengers where you need to go. And its 1000-pound cargo capacity or 1500-pound towing capacity will get your gear there, too.

The Pioneer 700-4’s long-travel suspension features 7.9 inches (front) and 9.1 inches (rear) of travel for enhanced comfort and capability.

Designed, developed, and expertly built in the U.S., the Pioneer 700-4 will also be affordable and durable. In addition, standard passenger doors, nets, and headrests assist in providing a secure ride. The new Pioneer 700-4, the first of a new breed.

How do you make a side-by-side that’s already as versatile and balanced as the Pioneer 700s even better? Our 2017 Pioneer 700 models still offer powerful, 675cc liquid-cooled engines, and their three-speed automatic transmissions give you something few other off-road automatics can—true engine braking in demanding terrain. A new front bumper and fascia make them look even better. And new for 2017, the Pioneer 700 and 700-4 are available as Deluxe models, featuring transmissions that let you choose either manual paddle shifting or fully automatic shifts. Deluxe models also include Electric Power Steering (EPS) and painted bodywork (Diver Blue on the 700 Deluxe and Matte Silver on the 700-4 Deluxe), as well as colored springs and all-new aluminum wheels. All models feature a massive 1500-pound towing capacity and 1000-pound hauling capacity, while the 700-4 models feature our QuickFlip® seating system—they’re a 2-seater, a 3-seater and a 4-seater, all in one.

Pioneer 700 has a three-quarter-ton towing capacity

Sometimes you need to tow things. Like, up to 1500 pounds of things. So we gave the Pioneer 700 a robust three-quarter-ton towing capacity—strong enough to handle some of those jobs you’d normally use a tractor for.

When you’re driving off road, power steering can be a big help, especially in rocky terrain, on sidehills, or over logs and dried ruts. Honda’s EPS is one of the best: there are no belts or pumps to slip, break or leak. It’s a “smart” system too—you get more assistance when you need it, and less when you don’t. (Available on Pioneer 700 Deluxe and Pioneer 700-4 Deluxe.)
