Cody drove his Cognito Motorsports built Polaris RZR XP 1000 to the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series 2014 Production 1000 championship just a few weeks back (see Rahders takes two titles at Lucas Oil Regional Series).  Then he loaded the car up and headed to Camp RZR in Glamis for some fun in the dunes. The car is a 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 fitted with Cognito Motorsport’s short course race cage as well their Factory Replacement front control arms, rear radius rod kit, radius rod cage, sway bar end links and frame gusset kit, rear bumper, and nerf bars.

The stock rear axle shafts were replaced with Cognito Motorsports spec Summers Brothers 300M shafts. Shocks are Cognito Motorsports tunedFOX Factory 2.5 Podium RC2s and springs are Eibach. The FOX Podium RC2 shocks feature Position-Sensitive Bottom-Out Control and Kashima Coat that results in a plusher ride, less friction and the ability to absorb bigger hits.

The engine was built by Sparks Racing Stage 2 Performance Package which included a Factory Polaris ECU, Sparks Racing complete X6 stainless steel exhaust system kit, Dynatek fuel/ ignition controller with Sparks Racing Fuel & timing maps, Sparks Racing Performance Clutch Kit, Sparks Racing Heavy Duty Secondary Clutch Dampener, Sparks High Performance Intake Plenum with K&N air filter, and was tuned by Brandon Hong.

Wheels are Method’s 401 UTV Beadlock Race Wheels and tires were a cross between ITP and GMZ depending on track conditions. GMZ Race Products Cut Throat tires were mounted up for Camp RZR.

For Camp RZR, the Cognito short course FOX shocks were swapped for Cognito tuned FOX shocks set up for recreational fun. Cody not only rides on FOX, but also works for them while not in college with a full load of classes.

It is always great to catch up with a racer using their car to have fun in the dunes. While a race car isn’t typically setup well for the dunes, the driver is such a part of the car that their talent makes up for it. This is also a testament to the flexibility of the RZR XP 1000 platform. Race one day and play the next.

Cody and his family are great people and we wish him continued success in racing and at FOX.
