Race Teryx is getting a major overhaul!

Our Kawasaki Teryx that we use for racing has gone under the knife for some major surgery. Bob at Roggy Enterprises has taken it down to the minimum in order to build it up right.
Plan is to set it up for King of the Hammers, a little short course racing with VORRA and maybe some desert too.
Follow along with the build at:

Here is what the Teryx looked like for the 2009 King of the Hammers UTV race:

2009 Kawasaki Teryx 750 FI 4x4 Sport Press Intro

2009 Kawasaki Teryx 750 FI 4x4 Sport Press Intro
I was fortunate enough to be invited to the 2009 Kawasaki Teryx 750 FI 4x4 Sport Press Intro at the Boulder OHV Area in Arizona. The area is managed by Arizona State Parks and the Bureau of Land Management. There is a nice staging area where dry camping is also allowed.
The weather was just about perfect, and I was quite impressed with the riding area. Arizona State Parks has marked the trails pretty well and also provide a map of the area. Several of the trails are loops which makes it real nice. The terrain offered a good variety of trails to test the new Teryx Sport. There were high speed wash runs, long steep hills (climbs and descents), serious whoops, g-outs, a small rock crawling section and some tight corners. Lots of good stuff for evaluating the features found in the 2009 Teryx.

In the morning we broke into two groups of 4 or 5 and were lead by one of the Kawasaki team. My group was lead by Justin Dawes, and this was just fine with me. Justin probably has more time behind the wheel of a Teryx than anyone in the world, so the pace was fast. We took lots of stops for photos, and did not make it back to the staging area until lunch.

After lunch, we had time to play around on our own. Kevin McNulty (Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road) and I took off and did some fast riding in the opposite direction that we took in the morning. We made it about half way around the loop before seeing another lime green Teryx coming towards us in the distance. Deciding it was best to avoid any potential for a head on, we turned around. Kevin lead on the way back and it was fun putting the Teryx through its' paces while trying to keep up with Kevin.

The Kawasaki team put on a great intro, and I really appreciated the opportunity to test the new Teryx Sport.
