TORRANCE, CA SEPTEMBER 10, 2015: The highly anticipated and sold out 17th annual Sand Sports Super Show in Costa Mesa, CA is this weekend at the OC Fair and Event Center. The key companies of the UTV, Sand and Offroad Industry gather every year at this event to show off new products, the latest in innovation and kick off the local sand dune season. This year’s show has an increased number of vendors selling out the Fairgrounds! It is a complete weekend of activities including all the features of years past, and the inclusion of the Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Sand Sports Super Show will take over the Orange County Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa on Friday from 4pm-10pm; Saturday from 9am-7pm and Sunday from 9am-4pm.
“The show has continued to grow again this year, and we are really excited to see the companies come with a different twist on their product lines,” said Shawn Parker. “Since 2008, when we had the economic crash that put most of the companies that were showing out of business, we have been consistently growing back to our best show year. We are very proud to say that our vendor spaces are sold out this year and we have a waiting list. We are excited and encouraged for our industry with this continual growth again.”
Speed Energy Formula Off-Road Stadium Super Trucks will have three shows over the course of the weekend: Friday at 6pm, Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 12pm. The Stadium Side-by-Side Powered by Arctic Cat Racing Series will launch this weekend. The new feature will host 10 Arctic Cat Wildcat side-by-sides driven by Action Sport Athletes, fans and dealers who will use the same track as the Stadium Super Trucks. Leading into this set of races, Sheldon Creed is leading the Points Standings with Robby Gordon in second and EJ Viso in third.
The American Sand Association, who revealed the RideNow Powersports Polaris RZR XP 4 1000 at the 2014 show and Twisted Alloy ECO Sand Car, will complete the raffle ticket sales which benefit the ASA and give them away to a lucky winner on Sunday. Tickets are $20, or 6 for $100. You do not have to be present to win, and tickets can be bought before the show on the American Sand Association website. Protect your right to recreate!
The Vendor spaces will be packed with UTVs and Sand Cars featuring companies newest products and innovative technology. All the UTV OEM’s will have a display including Polaris, Arctic Cat and Yamaha showing off their latest vehicles, some just recently released including the Yamaha YXZ1000R and the SPEED RMG Arctic Cat Wild Cat lineup. Chaparral Motorsports has confirmed that they will have their store in Building 16 now called the Chaparral Pavilion. Half will be packed with accessories and gear and the other half lined with Yamaha, Kawasaki, Can-Am and Polaris OEM vehicles.
Tickets for the Sand Sports Super Show are $15 per day or $25 for all three days. Children 12 and under are free for the Sand Sports Super Show. The cost of the Children’s Speed Energy Stadium Super Truck event is $15 for a one-day admission. The best deal for the weekend is a $30 combo ticket that gets an Adult in for both events for the same cost as a one-day admission ticket to the Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks. SHOW HOURS: Friday Show Hours: 4pm – 10pm; Saturday Show Hours: 9am – 7pm; Sunday Show Hours: 9am – 4pm. There is an abundance of parking.
